Trip Report - Monday, August 13, 2012 (Day 10, I think)
We were up at 8:30am. Same ole, same ole - coffee, granola bar. We were LAZY today!!!! Another villa gravity day.
I emailed La Plancha about dinner reservations at 5. Wanted to enjoy their amazing Happy Hour specials. Made reservations. Didn't need them since we were only about 1 of 3 tables there from 5 - 5:30. Better safe than sorry, though!
We lounged around the pool for about 2 hours. We had hot dogs and baked beans for lunch.

We "dressed up" for La Plancha, and we were there from 5pm - 8pm.
We enjoyed the 1/2 off apps - $8 bottle of passionfruit sangria (DELISH!!). (This used to be served in a pitcher - remember?)

We also enjoyed calamari ($7)....

bruschetta ($6), and we split a salad, the ribeye, and the chocolate waffle for dessert. Kevin - the bartender - mixed AWESOME drinks. D enjoyed the drink special of the day - a Zombie. This thing was WOWSER. It had absinthe in it. That I do remember.
ZOMBIE =

And David after drinking the zombie. (He will probably kill me for this, but it's TOO FUNNY not to post.)

Other pictures from the evening...
Our amuse bouche....

This was hilarious - for some reason, D gave up his fork during the appetizer portion (I think), so he was only left with a knife. He then used his knife and my knife to eat with until the server brought us another fork. Again, I blame the Zombie.

The meal itself, which we split:

And the infamous chocolate brownie waffle for dessert:

(Is it me, or has this gotten a little smaller over the years?)
We also enjoyed 2 glasses of wine, 2 mojitos, and 1 dessert cocktail, which Kevin just thought up when I asked for something to complement my brownie waffle. AMAZING. Bill = $122 before tip. We were back home a little after 8, tummies full.
La Plancha continues to be one of our FAVORITE, MUST-VISITS each trip. Another fabulous dinner this trip. Thanks, La Plancha!
We called mom before bed, and crashed around 10:30.
