Trip Report - Day 9 (Sunday, August 12)
For some reasons, days 1 - 6 don't want to link correctly, so use Day 7 or Day 8 to reach them. Sorry.
Day 7 http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/v ... =1&t=24307
Day 8 http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/v ... =1&t=24308
Up at 6am because the sun was glaring. Awesome sign of a great day! Slept til 7am, got up and had - you guessed it - coffee and a granola bar. We left the villa around 8am, and were at Hawksnest around 8:15am. There were only two other jeeps in the parking lot. SCORE!!! We set up shop at the far end by the rocks by Gibney.
Okay, WOW.
HOW have I never snorkeled Hawksnest!?? I have been missing out for YEARS!!!!!! HUGE fish, jellyfish, trumpet fish, you name it. It was like a live fish bowl or aquarium. Simply amazing!

I call him my Joker fish. (Seen Batman - The Dark Knight?)

David fish and jellyfish. Spy it?

Not another bag-o-pot?!? (Remember this from our 2011 trip?!? http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/v ... hp?t=21261)

I think this was the first time this has happened to me. Other forumites have mentioned this, however. I actually got COLD on my ultra-long snorkel! No worries. I wrapped up and read magazines, while David played in the water and napped.

Our site:

We stayed 4 hours, and then people started showing up. So, we left. We were hungry anyway.
Off to Shipwreck, where we had two killer strawberry lemonades, and beer. We split the beef chimichanga with salad and fries. The chimichanga came with the BEST green pepper sauce EVER. I could drink it by the gallon. (Can anyone help me out with the recipe...or a similar one?!? They should bottle and sell this sauce, I'm telling you!) We also split the conch fritter app and the peanut butter pie. Our tab was $51.
Not sure why I didn't take pictures. Guess I was too busy eating and drinking. Ha!
We headed to the Marketplace for newspapers, paper towels, M&M's, and a kit kat = whopping $7. Cheapest we've ever gotten out of there!
We rented 2 movies (Contraband and Safe Harbor) and headed back "home" around 3pm. Showered, watched the whitecaps. So windy. Gave some sugar to the banankeets.
We ate leftovers for dinner, and were in bed around 11pm.
