Swimming in February

Only once did I ever get chilled in the winter and that was last year after a very long snorkel. The water temp never bothers me during day at the beach dips. My super-sissy friend doesn't ever complain and she won't dip a toe into her own pool below 85 degrees.

Villa pools are a different story. For us, it has ranged from absolutely frigid pools to ones so warm (yet unheated) that we swam at night. Location makes all the difference.

Thanks for commenting. It reassuring that we will still be able to spend alot of time in the water. We weren't able to find a home with a heated pool that was available so we settled on a villa with a pool and a jacuzzi.

We always travel in Feb so we don't know any better! We have no problem swimming at that time of year, so I agree that it does depend on what you are used to. We have never had a heated pool, but then again we don't generally swim at night....can't help there. It's glorious any time in my opinion!!!

We have visited SJ twice in February and we spent most of our time at the beaches. The water was definitely warm enough to swim in...but keep in mind that we are coming from central NY where February temps average 10-20 degrees.

We don't find it cold at all. We aren't huge snorklers, but I spend about 30 minutes at a time snorkling and don't feel cold. Bobbing around in 4-5 ft of water near the shore is always warm and inviting.
