WZUP with the nekkid peeps?

Post by LSU Beach Tiger »

Quick trip report--Went to Solomon today & perched under a palm tree was a nekkid man. He kept getting up & walked up & down the beach flaunting his twigs & berries. Then another man with his wife/girlfriend came & dropped pants too! He was funny b/c he sat on the beach nekkid on his laptop--WZUP with that?? Maybe he was typing on the forum?

When I post my pics when I get back I'm pretty sure I got him in the shot--he wouldn't sit down when I was getting my beach shots.

Soloman is the "unofficial" naked beach. Still illegal, but it seems it's the place to get naked!

Solomon is pretty well patrolled and the least you'll get is a $50 ticket (suitable for framing).

Can you imagine being the cop who has to go give the naked guy a ticket? I wouldn't want that job... some folks look better with a bit of coverage.

I have heard that Solomon is the place to be for topless sunbathing, or more...

I didn't know the fine was $50 though. Not bad.

And this is why I don't go to soloman ;0 Nekked people make me laugh and that would just be rude!

Nothing could be much worse than the guy I saw in a thong at Jumbie. While pregnant I actually came across a maternity thong in a store and I was like PLEASE like you aren't uncomfortable enough carrying a watermelon around lets put dental floss between the cheeks to just add insult to injury!

Sea-nile: I was thinking the same thing about not visiting Soloman because I'll have my kids. But it looks beautiful, so I'd really like to see it! (Not the naked arses, the beach.)

Maybe I'll just let everyone know that it's a possibility we'll see some shiny hinies, and let them decide if they can ignore it and not get embarrassed or stare or whatever. On the other hand, my daughter will be 11. hmmm... might not be appropriate to bring her there.

I'd be curious about what other parents think. Also curious what the clothing-optional folks think. Would it bug you to have kids around if you're nude, or do people just mostly ignore each other?

When we saw the naked couple on Solomon a few weeks ago they pretty much hung out (oh brother - no pun intended!) under the seagrapes and then marched into the water occasionally. The beach is a pretty good size and there are lots of little shade areas. It is a gorgeous beach too so I wouldn't rule it out just because you "might" see some nekkidity. I would just go with the attitude that you are there to enjoy a beautiful beach and if someone is there naked - just ignore them - that is pretty much what everyone did the day we were there.

If you want to see some excitement you could always call the National Park Service (340-776-6201) and report them then wait to see them show up and give them a ticket - I wonder where he will be looking while talking to them and writing it out
