18 years w/ the bug!

Post by parafins »

It was 18 years ago today, when my wife and I flew down to St.John for the the first time.It was our honeymoon. We stayed at the Hyatt, now the Westin Resort.Wow,what great memories! That little island gave me a bug that I will never get over.As I look back at all the trips we have taken there, the honeymoon was my favorite.Perfect weather, new beaches to explore, and just the 2 of us.{our next trip was in '96 with our 1 year old daughter Katie. That was a lot of work.}Have a good day!Image

You sound like us! We married 16 years ago and honeymooned on St John every year for 8 years before having our daughter. She's been to St John 3 times now and was baptized by Anne Marie Porter at Maho Bay! We stayed at Sea Wing on our honeymoon (now off the rental market).
Trip #14 comes June 11, 2015!!

Happy anniversary!

We also honeymooned on STJ, at Caneel, in 1995. Way back then, I called Rockresort directly to request a brochure and make the reservations! I still have that brochure and our receipts from that trip.

I remember the Hyatt, we stopped in to look around and I remember the manager welcoming us and buying us a drink at the bar.

We have been back many, many times since. Our son's first trip was at 4.5 months old, 11 years after our honeymoon trip.

We have visited seven other islands and Mexico and STJ is still our first choice. Yes, we also have the bug after 17 years.

It was 6 years ago today that we first arrived on that funky little island, on our honeymoon. I got right down to the business at hand.
It's tough not having the next trip anywhere in my sight line.

Happy Anniversary! We honeymooned in St. Thomas and came over on the ferry for a day trip. It was so amazing we swore we would be back! It took us 19 years but we made it and have been back 5 more times. It never gets old.

Went the first time on our anniversary in 2003 when I was pregnant with my son. Been going back ever since and have also given the bug to my son and my sister and brother who come with us almost every year now. In a couple weeks we are going again for our 15th yr anniversary. Was just going to be hubby and me but our son wasn't having that! It will be his 3rd trip now. He did not see how it was possible that we could even think about going to St John without him! Can't wait! :D
