Just saying Hello!

Post by ADL »

Hi all! I've lurked around on the board a few times, so I figured it's probably time to step out of the shadows and introduce myself. My hubby and I are planning our fourth trip to STJ the first week of December. We are attempting to hit up more of the "local" restaurants this time around, and hopefully spending some time on some beaches that we haven't been to yet. I'm happy to have found this site - it definitely makes planning easier and it's nice to keep up with the changes of the island. The hard part now is reading the posts while (not-so) patiently counting down the days until I'm back on the rock!

Hey ADL,

I see you're from upstate ny, so are we, wny area. Husband and I too will be on the rock early dec. from dec 4-11, maybe our 10th visit? Since 95 or 96 anyway. We still haven't hit all the places we liked, villa gravity usually sets in. This time we are going to stay in Cruz bay and just rent a car for a day maybe.

Go to sogo's if you get a chance, tasty food!

Pm me if you'd like :)

I thought I saw someone in the shadows :) Welcome to this side. Our favorite "locals" places are P&Ps, Hercules (he wasn't open last time we were there, not sure if he has reopened, others here will know) and Candi's barbeque. Let me know if you want directions to any of these.
We always try and get to 1 new beach and 1 new restaurant each trip and we have several must do locations too. Hawksnest and Waterlemon beaches and La Tapa and Rhumblines since our first trip several years ago. High Tide made our must list after going there twice last trip.

Welcome!!! I'd add a couple to the list of local places - Sogo's in Cruz Bay, Ekaete Pink Corner in Coral Bay at the triangle, and Miss Vie's at the East end. Glad you decided to come out of lurk mode. I never tried lurk mode. I was sorta shot out of a cannon, questions flying off my lips and I flew into the awesome group of helpful folk!
