Villa Payment Terms

Post by Dome526 »

Forgive me if I am ignorant....
We are coming in 50 days (yes, I am counting) to STJ. Is it common for villas to require payment in full before arrival?

Yes, that is standard practice. I've never rented a villa that hasn't been paid in full before arrival. Most places require final payment 30 days in advance though we have encountered some flexibility there when booking last minute stays.

We own a property on island and our policy is 50% payment with the contract to reserve the suite and the remaing 50% due sixty days prior to arrival. I think payment in advance is pretty typical. Enjoy your countdown and your trip!

We are renting through the owner through VRBO in 8 days (YAY!). We put half down and we are paying the second half upon arrival.

We have made several trips and have always paid 50% down and balance due within 30 days or sometimes it has been 60 days prior to arrival, so I think that is typical of most. Enjoy! :D

A few times we've paid the remaining 50% upon arrival but it just depends on which company/owner you're dealing with.
