Firefox Airfare Alert Plug-in
Firefox Airfare Alert Plug-in
For those of you using Firefox browser, here is a plug-in that will track airfares. It shows up as an icon at the bottom of the browser window and when you mouse over it you will see the current lowest fare for whatever routes you configure.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2040
If you click on a fare it will take you to the FareCompareFirst web site where you can look at the fare details.
It's not perfect, but it's OK. For example, right now it shows me a fare of $269 from Chicago to STT. Sounds great, right? BUT, in order to get that fare I have to travel to STT on May 16th and return on May 16th
.
BUT, it did show me that I can get to STT and back for around $330 on Spirit throughout May and June.

I'm not too computer savy. Do you click on the "install" button? Then what? Do you get unwanted e-mails every day?
Yes, click the install button. The plug in will then be installed into Firefox and you will see a message asking you to restart Firefox (not the whole computer). Once Firefox restarts you will see a small icon at the bottom of the Firefox window that looks like a ball with the letters 'fc' in it. Right click on the ball and select Settings and add the routes that you want to track. After you have done tht just move your mouse over the ball and the current lowest fares will pop up. you can click on the fare in the popup to get more info.
NOTE: You MUST be using Firefox for this to work. This will not work for Internet Explorer. If you don't know if you are using Firefox, then you probably aren't

they also have an email download called Thunderbird which is excellent.
Mozilla is a very trustworthy organization..so you will not have any bad emails etc.
you can also keep your internet explorer until you see if you like it....and can import your "favorites list"
if you wish, from explorer and your all set.
