Ogunquit Maine – photo trip report
Ogunquit Maine – photo trip report
Some photos from recent trip to Ogunquit Maine. We didn’t do much - we just walked, ate, read, napped, and drank our way around Ogunquit - blueberry ice cream, lobsta rolls, chowda, rum punch at Barnacle Billys, fried clams and lobster roll at Bobs Clam Hut in Kittery on the way in, Whoopie Pies and other pastries from the awesome Bread and Roses Bakery on Main Street, and even artisanal pizza & craft beer at Cornerstone on Main St. (who woulda thunk you could get great pizza in Maine?)
Sorry but for some reason I failed to take photos of any of that to give you a food porn fix, plus those are fun photos to have. D’oh!
The innkeeper said we had the best weather of the season, so we really lucked out. We loved just hanging around town and the mega beach time, reading multiple books, or, in my case, 900 pgs of Stephen King 11/22/63 (I know - how cliche to be doing that in Maine, right!?)
It was delightful and quite photogenic. Found out after return that unbeknownst to me that several other Forumites were up there at the same time. When it comes to travel destinations, obviously they all have excellent taste also.

Thank you for the trip down memory lane. Spent summer vacation there as a child in the 60's and 70's. Haven't been back since early 80"s ,mostly due to the cold water, but alas it is still so beautiful - back on the bucket list. Beautiful pictures - thanks all.

Oh so beautiful! Thank you both for the eye candy!

Love those lobster rolls. We were in Kennebunkport on the 11th, 12th and 13th visiting my aunt in Wells. Your pictures are very familiar to mine. Stopped at the Nubble, Marginal Way and ate and drank at Barnacle Billy's. Had chowder at Fox's takeout - yummy. Ate at Lords in Wells - best lobster rolls. Love Maine.

Great shots, thanks for sharing. A little homesick as I grew up in Massachusetts and spent much summer time on the Maine coast, primarily to sit on the beach and eat lobster.

Thanks to all for the great pictures. We did a trip to Maine the first summer we were married and my husband has pestered to go back ever since. I dread the drive but this thread is making me thing next summer might be a possibility.
Re: Ogunquit Maine – photo trip report
Really lovely photos from both of you. I haven't been up to Maine in a long time. Might have to fix that next summer.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I have been checking out some sites for more information about Ogunquit. It looks lovely. Does anyone have a recommendation for accomodations? It would be the three of us (including our 7yo) and we would like a small cottage type of accomodation or an inn with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the views.

I have stayed there before and loved it. However, in July and Aug you can only book by the week so that might not work for you.
