Which villa for summer trip?

Post by Hawaii »

Hi all - Yes, we are coming to STJ for our second trip with our family July 2013 - yahoo!! I have it narrowed down to a couple of villas but just want to make sure I am not missing any. At the top of my list are Bay Rum Breeze, Casa Bueno (stayed on 1st trip), Alta Vista (not sure if the view is as good?) and a couple others if we need to tighten our budget. Of course, our heater is dying, have to get a new one this week, 4 brand new tires, etc, etc.. But, we are coming!!!! So, if you have any more suggestions for family of four, ac in bedrooms and great view in Coral Bay or Bordeaux Mt. area that would be great. Budget around $3,000 - 4,000. Thanks. Can't wait to start planning for our 2nd trip.

We will be staying in Casa Bueno in 60 days with two newbie couples!! This summer when we went with our 19 and 20 year old, we stayed at Amarilla Villa in Coral Bay. It is just about $3100 in June - has a/c in all three bedrooms, pool, hot tub, killer sunrise views, bananaquits, a gated entrance, an amazing kitchen. It is just a little farther than Shipwreck..we loved it.. Oh yeah - can't forget the sweet little outdoor kitty who would come visit us! Any questions, let me know! :D

PS Reef Madness is my favorite, And Randy the owner actually told Steve to check out Amarilla since we needed the third BR. I should tell you the one BR is a little smaller, it doe have its own bathroom and was not an issue at all for my kids!!

Thanks, I know Reef Madness is a wonderful villa just do not think two bedrooms would work unless they had twin beds and I am pretty sure that is not the case. We have two kids 15 year old son and 11 year old daughter so sleeping in the same bed would not work. There are so many great villas and I know we can not go wrong on STJ. Thanks for the help so far.

Casa Bueno is a great house but I have to say Bay Rumb Breeze is even better IHMO. We love this house and it's location. The views can't be beat and the parking is really super at this house. If you don't sleep in the upstairs bedroom you could avoid stairs except for a few down to the pool area. We've stayed there twice and have already book next year.

Have you looked at Orion's Hill? I have never stayed there, but became fascinated with the place when we stayed in Creolla on the next peak over. Orion's Hill was the only villa we could see from our mountain top aerie, and it did look very fine. The view from Creolla was to die for, and the view from Orion's Hill is probably about the same, especially with all those viewing decks. I love the little widow's walk on the top of the house! It took me a while to figure out which villa it was, but I finally found it online: http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/property/orions-hill/

It only has 2 bedrooms, but it has TWO living rooms with sofa beds. I would imagine that the teenager wouldn't mind having that second living room as his bedroom, what with all the electronics.

Ajax Peak is a fantastic location, and this place is practically new. It looks like a steal to me. It's one of the places on my short list if I ever plan a trip with another couple.

Orion's is spectacular. We spent two weeks a few years ago. You feel like you are in two separate homes. Both living rooms are large with lots of gadgets. The pull out sofa would be great for your 15 year old. There is a 1/2 bath off of both living rooms. There is a lot of local art and high end furniture. The decks both upper and lower are huge and the views/tradewinds are phenomenal. The handmade teak spiral staircase is a work of art and the pop up hatch to widow's walk has a 360 view. The grounds are lush with plantings and the pool is ionized, so very clean and refreshing. We loved this home and the owner is super nice. Up the hill across from Smoothie Shack and gated entrance.

South Shore is further away from the NS beaches, but man the views look amazing...
