Delta Air Fare

Post by Capn Dan and Ruby »

We will be flying Delta non-stop out of Atlanta. Don't want a repete of last year. It seems relitvly consistant in its fares. Does it go up and down through out the year like others do? Does any one know the best time of year to buy air fare on Delta?

We fly Delta and connect in Atlanta and the flights vary greatly. They constantly go up and down. I would suggest tracking a bunch of flights through Yapta and then you'll get a good idea of what you're going to be spending.

We booked our St. John trip a month or so ago when someone posted that there were some great prices out there. We fly out of Buffalo and are connecting through Atlanta in December Tues/tues for a smokin' price of $280-$300 r/t including taxes. Right now that's coming up at $386, but even that is a great price since it's normally in the 4-500 range.
So yes they can vary and yes depending on when you're going there are some great prices now I think. I just booked a Denver price for the same amount roughly which is also very good for that flight too.

It varies, it's up and down as well as seasonal. I got a roundtrip from BWI via Atlanta for $335 in November a couple of years ago and just booked one for February for $425 after it went up $50 and then back down $50 so I snagged it thinking it was going to hike up again. I had heard prices were going to go down come fall.

Someone posted about 6 weeks ago Delta offering fares of $160-$190 from Atlanta. I went online quickly and got airfare out of Norfolk on Delta for $225 a piece. We normally have to drive to D.C. to catch good fares, but they were at $286 at the time. We had to adjust our travel time to a week earlier to catch the good deal...........but it all worked out.

I think fares go up and down like crazy, right place right time it seems! Good luck.

Thanks all, we are booked. I took the chance... things in the Middle East look sketchy and I don't want to risk it!
