Question for Cruz Views Experts!

Post by vi lover »

Hello all. After missing last winter to our favorite island (job change...), we are planning to bring our 2 teen daughters with us over Spring Break next April.

It will be a budget vacation (as much as one can be "budget oriented with a trip to VI). So we're looking to stay at Cruz Views. We think the loft second bedroom will work fine for us. We have previously stayed at Cruz Bay Villas just up the hill and are comfortable with the location.

My question for you all is: Do you have a specific Condo number that you think would be best for us? We are two parents, an 18 year old daughter and a 16 year old daughter.

I've looked at inexpensive villas (and would like to do that!), but they all seem to be $1,000 more than Cruz Views. In this case, budget housing has to off-set the incredibly high airfare ($600 each!).

Thanks!

Hi there. We've stayed at Cruz Views 3 times. If you're going in the first two weeks of April, Unit 3 is open and I've heard people say it's one of the nicer ones. Two bedrooms, both with AC. Unit 4 is also 2 BR with AC but the view from the porch doesn't look as nice.
Your only options for later in the month are 5 and 10. Of those, I believe 10 is the nicer one.
We've stayed in 1, 2, and 8.
Cruz Views 1 is now rented independently and I believe is more expensive. It does have central air, though.
I wouldn't consider 2 or 8. They have only one AC bedroom. These are West facing units and the living space is too hot for us to sleep in without AC. Unit 8 does have a little screened porch area with a small futon, but the no-seeums can get through the screening, and again, it's hot.
We like Cruz Views alot. We don't spend enough time "at home" to consider paying that much more money for accomodations.
Hope that helps!

We stayed in #1 and it worked great for two couples on a budget. We were supposed to leave on 09/11/2001 but... So I'll remember Cruz View Villas

We stayed in Cruz Views #1 for the first time a couple months ago. Absolutely loved it!

Yes, it is a little more than the other units but SO well worth it. We actually went with a couple other families that stayed in units #3 and #4. Whereas the other units (which were otherwise quite nice) did not have functioning a/c, we were totally comfortable with our central a/c, did not have sufficient hangars or closet space (6 hangers total for a family of 4?!, only 1 closet that was useable!), we had plenty of both, had only 1 6-pack size cooler, we had 2 very nice, new, large and small-size light-weight coolers which we all used constantly.

#1 also had 4 nice new beach chairs, plenty of freezy-paks to put in the coolers, tons of kitchen goodies including tupperware-type containers to bring goodies to the beach, plenty of bath and beach towels, beach bags, and really anything we could possibly need. One of our fellow-traveler's units had only 4 bath towels for the 4 of them for 1 week and only 2 or 3 beach towels.

We were very happy with the amenities, the views, the location--really really conveniently close to town and beaches and grocery store (Dolphin). Plus we had our own parking spot, grill, and a great large deck. So happy in fact that we already booked it for our "on-season" trip.

The pool, views, and gardens at Cruz Views are great (I'm a swimmer, gardener and sunset-lover so really super-appreciate all of those). Plus while it's close to everything, it's far enough away from the 'hub-bub' of town to avoid the noise and crazy-traffic down by the dock.

We liked it a lot. Feel free to pm me with any other specific questions you may have. Hope this helps!
