input on this 4 BR villa?

Post by stjchica »

Can't find any forum reviews on Vista Caribe.
http://www.cateredto.com/vista-caribe/
Does anyone have any knowledge/thoughts on this villa?
Also looking at http://www.vrbo.com/122603. Thoughts?
Had thought about Casa Bueno as well, but the last review I saw said the furnishings etc were getting pretty worn...
Need a 4BR villa for a family trip. Looking for villa with these features:
4 BR
Within 10 min of Cruz Bay
Nice outdoor area/pool
AC in BR's
Great ocean view
Rate of approx $4000/wk or less

Please suggest any 4 or 5 BR villas that fit our needs..Thanks so much!!

We stayed at Cocotier about 5 years ago and loved it! $4250, so just a little over budget. RickG and his family also stayed there. I think he did a review........don't think I did. Happy planning :)

I have always wanted to check out South Shore Villa. It looks great and that view must be spectacular. I think it might be more than 10 minutes to Cruz Bay though (maybe add another 5 minutes or more). Also, both of the villas you posted are over your budget for 4 bedrooms, not sure if you noticed that, or were planning on waiting for possible last minute bookings on them. Most of the time the increased rates are for bedrooms, not necessarily for the number of people spread out in a villa. Perhaps it has to do with cleaning the bedrooms being an extra charge to them, not certain. Anyone else have input on this?

We are staying at Vista Caribe for 9 nights next May. We have stayed at La Papaya (Destination St. John) and it probably fits within your budget and is close to town. It's starting to show it's age but is a nice villa for the money. Also at Cateredto is Crystal Seaview.

Rates increase by people in most cases because more people means more cost to the owner. There is more water used, more electricity used, more cleaning to do, etc.

If you have 4 people staying in a 4 bedroom, you may even find that that they lock the bedrooms not being used. It is a way to keep costs down.

You didn't mention the number in your party, but based on asking for a 4 bedroom, that would be the equivalent on most websites of 7-8 people.

At our last rental we had 9 in a four bedroom and were charged the 7-8 person rate as cots were involved (approved by the manager). I assume we were charged for bedrooms in that case scenario since there were no extra charges.

Ok..let me change the rate to close to $4500..Definitely not over $5000...
Now back to anymore input on the villas listed or have any others you love? There will be 6 of us, but need 4 bedrooms...thanks so much!! Really like Vista Caribe...was hoping for some personal insight on it...
As far as South Shore Villa....are there any things to think of when staying on the south shore? Is it windier on that side, rains more on that side, etc?? Just trying to think of all the pros and cons of all the villas..Thanks again!

Another very nice 4 bedroom villa is Villa Sanctuary in the Klein Bay area. It has a fabulous covered deck, patio, pool, hot tub outdoor socializing area. The view is one of the best. I believe it is in your price range in low season - don't recall that I saw when you were planning your vacation? A plus to this villa is there are stairs down to Klein Bay so you can walk around or snorkle in the bay - it is rocky, you'll need shoes! I believe the villa is listed on VRBO.com and depending on how many days you might be renting, they might work with you on the price. We loved this villa and location (short drive to Cruz Bay) and hope to be able to stay there again soon!

Thanks everyone..Still looking for "the" villa.
I was pretty set of Vista Caribe and looked at the pics a hundred times..but then just noticed the 4th bedroom is set in a separate building..and really want all under the same roof just for peace of mind....So the hunt continues.. :? Might have to work more overtime and raise the villa budget to get what I'm looking for...

stjchica,

Vista Caribe looks lovely.....I would not worry about one bedroom being in a separate pod..some like that! Also, it's so hard to find bedrooms all under the same roof. Go with your gut and good luck 8)
all you have to do is smile, smile, smile
