St. John, Day 2 - not that's what I am talking about!
So we planned to make it out to Salt Pond and do the Ram Head trail, have a snorkel, have lunch out there somewhere, and see what else the day brought. And it all worked out to (near) perfection - up early and breakfast at our place, over to Coral Bay early, great hike with the kids, super snorkel, 2 small turtles (or maybe the same one twice), a big stingray, tons of large conch, all kids of fish -
Great lunch at Shipwreck Landing where I finally met Pat! (She told me she hoped that I wasn't on her bucket list but I was pretty excited).
Then back to Gallows to freshen up before heading out to town to try to see some people. I was too late to see Ruth and Ron (hopefully tomorrow AM) but I met up with Gretchen from Cruz Bay Realty for a visit, and then over to the Schnell Studio to see my friend Eric and do a tiny bit of work, before being picked up by my family to have dinner at the home of Mat of St. John Catering. Great meal (of course) with some really fun people.
We missed meeting Cheryl at the Tourist Trap - it was busy and the staff seemed jammed but I guess she wasn't around was what I understood, and were a little too fried by the sun to do more in Coral Bay (I wanted to visit Sloop), but overall a really fun and full day.
Here is a hermit crab that crossed the trail on the way out to Ram Head:
