What in-flight service? Flying in the continental US, there isn't any to speak of anymore unless you are in first class. Back in the day...the meals used to be pretty decent. Anyone remember REAL silverware? And those mini salt and pepper shakers?

I like midwest air for their cookies but they don't do us much good if we want to go to St. John. I have had unpleasant experiences on AA, Southwest, United, US Air, Northwest (probalby the worst!) and Delta. I think it is what it is unfortunately. Jet Blue is about the most comfy, but again, no good if you want to go to the caribbean.

Delta is my fav because I have managed to get 9 free flights to STJ in a little more than 5 years. They are fairly consistent and ok as far as on board service.

We recently flew Virgin Atlantic to London and found their in flight service to be the most refreshing we have encountered in many years. There IS actually service, from fresh warm damp towels,descent food and snacks, to inflight movies, free beer and wine, and flight attendants with pleasant personalities willing to help make the flight comfortable. I went in with no expectations and came out thinking how nice they made the flight.

Domestically I have been using Spirit almost exclusively due to them being close to my home as well as them going to places I want to go. There isn't much you can call noteworthy except that I don't have any problems with their service as it is what you get thses days in the US. Spirit as a whole has never lost a bag of mine, and for the most part runs ontime. The flight attendants are usually pleasant.

Despite the bad publicity they've gotten recently, I vote for Jet Blue. They have comfortable seats with a lot of leg room, TVs in each of the headrests with movies showing and several TV channels you can watch as well. We had our choice of free snacks (every other airline I've been on in the past year, you now have to pay for snacks). And the service was great. The flight from San Juan to Columbus seemed to go by very quickly thanks to the comfort, entertainment and service.

I vote Jet Blue. They can get you as far as Puerto Rico and then you can hook up with a connection over to STT. Although, this does make your travel day much longer.

I vote for Jet Blue. I really only fly domestically, and up and down the East Coast for the most part. I took Jet Blue recently from RDU - BOS and it was awesome. Quiet plane, TV in the seat (I recently read someone call in flight TV one of the most underrated inventions ever), more leg room etc...

However, I don't mind Southwest. You may say "What service?" but that's it. You don't pay for any. You pay to get from here to there and, if you time it right, you don't pay a whole lot. I love Southwest.

US Air blows. Continental is acceptable, and Delta thinks too highly of itself (Hoping they don't read that and take my 250,000 miles away from me)

Sorry to those of you who answered this post - this was some pretty sophisticated spam. Whoever was behind (it was probably automated) actually took the time to sign up more than one user, wait a month to make a post, and then wait several days to make a response - posting a URL as the answer in the hope of getting some free traffic I guess. I thought the topic seemed contrived, and then when I saw another post that really didn't belong on the relocation forum from the same author, we put 2 + 2 together. We are trying very hard to make sure that only valid users get their accounts activated here. Hopefully this won't happen again.
