Yes, the ruins. I thought our kids were close in age, our son is 6 yo and spent a great deal of time playing pirates in there. I got the role of Elizabeth.

Hi Kristen,
So glad you enjoyed Island Stones villa. We had a great time when we stayed there back in October 2010! The views are amazing and spectacular - it makes it so hard to leave the villa!

Enjoyed your report and pictures. Was surprised that such a high scale villa would forget soem of the little things like spatulas or better lightening in stairwells- that's a little disappointing since it is so beautiful ( but I am sure those incidentals didn't make or break the trip)
From all accounts that we got from the locals, the manta(s) left about 4-5 weeks ago now  and although we missed them too, we sure saw some other beauties underwater again this trip! ( fingers crossed they "get it" and return to STJ - preferably in late October when Augie and I return

Great report and pictures! My favorites are the girls eating pancakes in the pool and the girls floating on the inflatable ring in the ocean. And I love the halter tankini that your mini-me was wearing! I wish that came in adult sizes!!

Thank you all :)

Eagleraylover...one of the locals told us the manta was still around but I am guessing he just didn't want to disappoint us! But you never know...

Donna...I love that suit and wish I could find one in my size too! And my daughter will never forget eating pancakes in the pool :D

One last note about the villa...two of the six outdoor showers are not private. Ours was visible from one end of the pool so we tried to shower early in the morning or after everyone was out. And the 2nd main house room shower could be seen from the walkway to the master and one of the downstairs room.

Thanks for TR and photos.
I counted 60 bites on legs, and feet. It seems they only liked the women...
We have had the same issue but then had the girls switch from their fancy scented body wash to plain old soap and it made a big difference.

Dont know if that applies here, but worth noting again that the using less fragrent products on island may reduce overall bug attraction.

That is so funny that you mention the visible outdoor showers. We stayed at Reef Bay View last year when we were on our buying trip since it was one of the villas we were interested in. One of the master showers was totally exposed from the waist up to the whole pool area and the bay. Fortunately, we were by ourselves!!

jmq...I only used plain suave lotion but it still had a scent though i guess. one of the ladies stopped using lotion completely and think that helped. live and learn for next time!

Donna...I couldn't believe it about the showers but it worked out so we never got caught showering..or so I think!
