Denis Bay
Denis Bay
Tell me about the beach - one report I read said it was rocky and one report said it was sandy.
Is there any shade?
Also, is it hard to get to?
Always looking for a new beach to visit and you don't hear too much about this one.
Thanks.

It is both rocky and sandy.Limited shade, and a narrow trail that goes down to the beach. Some areas are still in private hands{don't go past the first line of vegetation}Look for the old anchor near the old pier post,it's fun to look for.You can swim to it from Jumbie I think.
HELLO FROM MICHIGAN...
We went on our trip last yr...and even though it was pretty...I didnt think it was the prettiest beach on STJ..I had wanted to go on the other trips before but we just never found the time..so we went..and its a nice beach...and Im glad we went...but for me it was just ok...oh...and we found the anchor..snorkeling was ok..just IMO...

To me Denis is similar to Jumbie, the water is rough enough that I'd rather go elsewhere. Sure, if it was was here in central Illinois I'd be there every weekend. But for STJ, I have other beaches that I like better.
