Internet Reliability and a couple more questions

I am looking at doing an extended stay in USVI and was just wondering how reliable the internet is. I work from home and can work from anywhere as long as I have a phone line and reliable internet, so just wondering what what the reliability is and if it is different island to island? Thanks!

We stayed in St. John in last February for a week and we did not have any problems with the internet.

We were there in the beg. of March and were told that a lot of solar flares going on at that time. Internet, cell service, credit card sales were all spotty then and caused us cash flow issues.
