Help ~ purchase UW camera on STT or STJ ???

Post by islandjo2010 »

Hi Everyone,
Our first day on STT yesterday and we find out the UW camera Canon D10 from our 2010 trip is not working.
Has anyone purchased a camera on STT or STJ before and where? We are on STT a couple of more days before heading to STJ for 2 weeks.
I would hate to not be able to take UW photos this time.
Thanks for any help or advice...I know we should have tested in the water before leaving home.

Royal Caribbean on STT sells underwater cameras. I had to buy one there after an accident with mine on the Reef Bay hike. I went to the one in the Havensight area. I think there is another one in Yacht Haven as well. Just check one of the tourist magazines, there will be an ad with their location(s). I remember that there wasn't a lot of selection but they did have the brand I liked and the price was fair. Good luck!

The first one we bought on STT at Royal Caribbean at Havensight..but I am thinking there was another store at the time that carried them...but that was in 07 and the last one we got on STJ in 09..at Royal Caribbean at Mongoose..I think the prices we about the same. You could call and compare..and make sure they have what you are looking for as well..
Enjoy your Island time...:)

JJShaw ~ Thank you too!
Sounds like we should be able to find something either on STT or STJ ~ whew! :)
I know we will have a splendid time even if we aren't able to take UW photos this time and maybe would even see more without having to worry about capturing everything in photos!
Thanks again!

Hi Jo - I did get your private message and sorry your camera is not working but looks like you have some options. I can't wait to hear how your trip goes and hope your time on STT goes well too. Glad to hear you got in at Coral World. Have a great time!! Drink a painkiller or two for me.

We have bought several cameras from boolschands (sp???) with good results. They were always cheaper than Royal Carribean. remember To be clear that you will be there for 2 weeks and you might wait to buy it. Be sure to look for something that will go deep enough to dive 60 feet. The D10 can't do that.

Enjoy the trip!
