Caneel Trailside Cottage or Fish Beach Villa?

Post by ColumbiaSCTraveler »

Does anyone have any thoughts / recommendations on either Caneel Trailside Cottage or Fish Beach Villa?

I did a search here, but most reviews are a couple of years old.

Help, please!

Thanks, y'all!

Of the two I would choose Caneel Bay Trailside cottage. I've never stayed in either one but have stayed in 8 other villas. What is the size of your party, when are you going and what do like to do? I might suggest some other villas for you.

Go COCKS! Let's have a 3 Peat.

We have stayed in Fish Beach Villa and it was great- great pool, hot tub for star gazing.we saw lots of wild life out there- deer every day great birds. The trail to the secluded beach was nice - too rough that time to entire the water but have heard its nice. It is a bit far , but we didn't mind too much. Hope this helps a little. Happy to send you pictures.

We've stayed at Fish Beach, the house is great, very quiet out there. I will say the road is pretty rough the last 1/4 mile, but could be better now, and we experienced lots of bugs, but it was also a rainy week during and prior to our stay. I'd stay again if the road improved.

Thanks to all for your comments!

We're looking for something between $1,500 - $2,000 / week. Just 2 of us. Necessities: pool and AC and "newish." Location is no big deal. We've stayed all over, and have no preference. (Dates - August 9 - 16, 2012)

GO COCKS, Pulley! :D

ERL and KL, would love pix if possible! Was it difficult / weird having to go outside to get to the bedrooms at night?

For some reason I didn't take many pics of this villa, but the website is very accurate, it's a nice, beautiful new villa.

Little weird having the separate entrance bedrooms but we didn't mind, easy to lock yourself out (which we did once).
