One of my favorite places... under a sea grape tree at Vie's. Did you get yourself some Conch fritters?

Last weekend we drove to the beach for an auction, and I was able to find a place that sold clam cakes for H (It's a northeast thing. He had never had any, but loves Vie's conch fritters). It was heaven!!!

TrvlJohn -

I've really, really been enjoying the pictures, but I've lost track - how long have you been down there, and how much longer can we look forward to the "Live From..." photos? It's gonna be a real bummer when they stop. And I have to ask: Is ThingOne a Dr. Seuss reference? Again, thanks for all the posts - you have a great way words, too!

needmesomesun: I am a transplanted yankee so I look forward to my trips back to new england so i can eat clam cakes, clam chowder, fried clams, raw clams, steamed clams, etc... mmm....

I did eat a couple of orders of fritters while i was on the island...

SmilinJack: I am now back in NC. We went down for 2 1/2 weeks but all good things must come to an end (til next time). Thing One is indeed a Dr. Seuss reference. When my kids were younger I bought them Thing 1 and Thing 2 t-shirts and it kind of stuck... They are now grown and I am not sure that my 25 year old daughter appreciates it anymore.
