More details on truck vs. villa

Post by jigzmom »

I've been in touch with my friend whose rental villa was hit by the cement truck.

The villa is Beija Flor. Here is what he said: "[The truck] drove straight through the turn and straight down the hill. Watched it happen from the entry way... Screaming girl turned out to be a little girl in the truck vs. What I thought was [my daughter] being being drug down the hill by the truck."

I'll post photos from the scene as soon as I get them.

When asked if the passengers had jumped out of the truck, he said:

"Not sure when they jumped but they were all by the truck when it hit the road below. Cab was crushed and little girl had only scratches. Truck blocked the road for hours. Pretty sure they [rode] it through the house."

Is there any chance there were 2 accidents.

I have seen reports of the Water Truck hitting the Villa and separate reports of the Cement truck rolling down the hill.

I believe only one accident - some reports say concrete truck others water truck (they look almost identical)

Holy moley... I'm so glad everyone was unhurt. That would be terrifying, and could have been tragic as well.

I'll say it again becasue I can't stop thinking it: I am so, so glad that your friend's family is unhurt, and the folks in the truck are OK too.

It seems my friend has been reading/hearing that it was a cement truck, but it was a water truck. His last comment: "We didn't stay around for a cement truck to come down the hill."

Glad to see he has a sense of humor about it all!!

Would love to see some pictures of that. Nothing in the Tradewinds yet either.
