Request for some suggestions

Post by Neeners »

Hello - we will be in St John in less than a week (woo hoo!), and I wanted to get a couple of suggestions.

1) Have you gotten a massage while there? Who did you use, and how did you like them?

2) We usually always go to Maho, Trunk, and Cinnamon. What's a new beach we should make sure to check out? Preferably with not too much of a hike, as one of the group has a hurt leg.

3) What boat charter or service did you use for some snorkeling and of course to enjoy Jost? I think the last time we went we used Born to Rhumb (loved it), but it looks like that's not in business any longer. There are five of us.

4) Favorite 'fancy meal' on the island?

Thanks a bunch for your time!

If your up for the drive, I would check out Little Lameshure, we went for our first time in April and loved it.

Not sure if its considered fancy... but Rhumblines is a favorite of ours

3) Palm Tree Charters. Capt. John is fabulous, you'll have a blast.

4) Fsncy meal - Zozo's, but quite honestly, we love the food at Shipwreck just as much and it's way cheaper.

I just realized your trip is really soon -- Capt.John is nearly always booked up. We make our reservations with him months in advance, but maybe he has an opening, who knows?

Nice beaches without hiking: Francis, Little Lameshur and Miss Vie's. Enjoy your trip!

If your person with the bum leg can handle a a reasonably short board walk give Jumbie a try. The new access is much easier than the old one with the stairs. And to me, this beach is a gem.

I second this statement - Jumbie is a treasure and the short walk is an easy one. Just make sure you get there early as there is not a lot of parking.

We used Island Roots charter and were very pleased.

My favorite meals were at Aqua Bistro and Fatty Crab

Re: massage, John and I have been to Drift Away day spa several times for massage and it's great. (Last time we were there, we actually did a package that included a mani/pedi and a facial, which were also very good.) They're located above St John Market, right by the Westin.

My man and I loved Francis in the morning with the Turtles. I'll second both Miss Vie's and Shipwreck as great :) Aqua Bistro had great drinks but didn't get a chance to eat there (was told it was worth it though)
Don't sweat the small stuff!

I agree with others: Francis is one of our Favorites! Very easy access and a lovely beach with actually quite a few "spots with shades".

Just had the pleasure of trying out ZoZos for the first time. This place is truly amazing! From drinks, to appetizers, to main meal to dessert - this place was the best ever!

We each had one drink, we each had an appetizer, each had a main entree and shared a fantastic dessert. The bill, I believe, came to approx. $133 before tip.

I actually thought that that was pretty reasonable based on the quality of the food. I usually get a filet mignon - but, they only had NY Strip or Sirloin Steak on the menu. I swear, it was one of the most moist and flavorful pieces of steak that I have ever had.

Have a wonderful vacation!!
