KMART on St. Thomas

Post by kklay »

Hello,

We will be arriving on Thanksgiving and I understand Cost-U-Less is closed however KMART will be open. I would appreciate any feedback on beer, liquor, water prices at KMART vs. St.John. We are primarily beer drinkers but also typically get some vodka, rum, etc. as well as snack items. We will be renting our car on St. Thomas. Any and all information is appreciated! :)

it has been many years since I bought anything at KMart on STT but we were more than happy with the rum and vodka prices on STJ. Cruzan was 7.99 at Lily's and I think Absolut was 11?
We buy a case of water at STJ Ice for $5 and refill the jugs for .50 a piece when needed.
If that is the only thing that you are going to KMart for, I would skip it.

You may find it more worthwhile to go to Plaza Extra [ in the same complex as big K mart ] the drink prices are very close or better sometimes than Costuless and the food and dry goods prices are very good compared to STJ - the wide selection may also surprise you.

We stopped at Kmart in the begining of March and didn't feel that it was worth the trouble. Next year we'll skip it and go straight to STJ.

I would do what ExitZero says! He's my go-to person for STT questions :)

Thank you all for your replies. I will check into Plaza Extra and see if they will be open on Thanksgiving. We have a rather large group and do like to purchase some items on St Thomas before getting on the car barge. We also are "cooler" people! For us, it takes less time to provision before getting on St John and can get about our business the next day with getting up early and to a beach.

It's wonderful how much information is shared on this forum and how helpful everyone is! Thanks again.
