Coral Bay Trip Report: Day 6
Sailing with White Wing
We did not have to meet Clark until 9:30 so we had a hearty breakfast, did some dinner prep, and headed down to the dingy dock behind Skinny’s.
Clark has guests staying at his rental house and asked if they could join us, we had no problem. They were a nice couple from Boston and they were newbies so it was great to chat with them.
I love sailing. There is something about it that makes me feel so calm. The wind is there, you just have to know how to use it. Clark certainly does! Unfortunately, the newbie husband had never experienced sailing with wind like we had and he was not feeling well at all. Clark gave him the wheel and it did seem to help for a bit.
We anchored at Flanagan and loaded into the dingy to do some snorkeling. It was a bit rough and the newbie was not looking good, so the rest of us jumped in and Clark brought him to land to rest.
After our snorkel we had lunch, Clark makes a mean sandwich, and we headed off for another snorkel location and I got to sail there. It was really cool to play with the wind a little and I managed to maneuver, under sail, into Newfound Bay.
The sick newbie and I decided to stay on the boat while the others went off on a snorkel.
When they returned we headed out towards Normal Island and then back to Coral Bay, while listening to the newbie’s funk band on the iPod. It was a very mellow sail, newbie was feeling better, and we enjoyed a few painkillers on the sail back. We sat in the harbor and chatted with Clark until almost 8 and then back to the villa for pasta dinner.
It is hard to pick a favorite day, but this may have been it. Chip is rarely 100% content and seeing him so relaxed and worry-free was just perfection for me.

Thanks for posting this...that is a trip I would really like to try...I love sailing too but we always seem to choose the power boat option so we can hit as many spots as possible(and a fondness for Palm Tree!)
Next trip I will try this for sure.
I can understand why you aren't as fond of the Coral Bay side with all the traveling back and forth...I may have to give it a try some day however.

Thats what is nice about sailing with Clark. No rushing back to be back at a certain time, and sailing as the sun gets low is pretty fine.
Hey - this gives me an excuse to post this photo yet again LOL

When we come to place where the sea and the sky collide
Throw me over the edge and let my spirit glide
