For those of you who "get it" ...

I found the island on a cruise into St. Thomas, day tripped from the cruise and BAM I knew that this was the place. The following year I was married on Trunk Bay and we returned several years renting different villas. She is no longer with us and the first year after losing her I never wanted to return to our magical place. My close friends pushed me to return on a group trip and I was hooked again been going with the same group for the last 5 years heading back in two weeks and they get it! I have loved and I have lost and I have lived for just one more day on my beloved St. John.

I certainly know what you mean because "I get it too". I absolutely drive my family crazy because STJ is all I talk about and just can't wait to get back. I just think I'm a more calm, reasonable, happier, person when I am there so I'm looking forward to June when I return with my husband for my sister and her husband's 20th wedding anniversary, just got to figure out how to make my ticker! cheers!

That is me!! I have driven my hubby so nuts by talking about St. John every day!! Now we have a deal, I can't say "St. John" in front of him, except to make plans!
Also, I too am calmer, more reasonable, and much happier when I'm on St. John. I even had a post STJ glow for months!
It's the warmth, from the weather and the people that make the most beautiful place also the happiest place!

Just yesterday, the subject of our 2013 winter vacation came up and I rattled off all of my "requirements" and my husband said "well, I guess it is STJ or Virgin Gorda."

He is sort of itching to try some place new but he thinks there are 10 other islands like STJ out there, I think not.

I was married on St. Thomas in 1996. The following year we returned to St. Thomas for a couple days on the way to St. Croix and took our first day trip to St. John. We vowed to come back and spend more time. Since 97 we have taken 3 day trips to St. John and coming up this summer will be our 7th week or longer trip. Each time we try to spend a few more days. This summer it will be 1 night on St. Thomas and 14 on St. John. We usually go somewhere else every other year. I just take a deep sigh when I am coming into Cruz Bay on the ferry and I am totally relaxed.
