I second the vote for Zozos at the bar at sunset. Also consider The Equator at Caneel. One last option... check out Ted's Supper Club. He comes to your villa and prepares an amazing four-course meal. (And he cleans up after!) I love the restaurants on St. John, but Ted was the single best night we've ever had on St. John. And that's saying a lot!

I love Rhumblines but I'd vote for La Tapa for a special dinner.

My vote would be for Lime Inn - had two excellent meals there last week. Also went to Rhumblines - did not have a good experience. My wife does not eat seafood and ordered the filet mignon. The food took almost an hour to arrive (not island time, just poor service). Food arrived barely lukewarm, my wife's filet was basically unedible. She did not re-order since it took so long to arrive the first time. Waitress was inattentive, especially after my wife sent her food back. I ended up leaving no tip, which I never do. Maybe an off night for the kitchen, but will not go back.
