Hey...We are staying there in June. We stayed at Star Villa up the hill (the unit w/the pool) last year and saw them working on the Casablanca re-do everyday as we went up and down the hill. I think it's going to be a cool place to hang out---I really love my own swimming pool. And the price can't be beat.

We stayed at Casa Blanca for 10 nights in 2005. The first thing we did after getting there was head to Starfish for cleaning supplies for the bathroom (and we had already gotten groceries on STT). It just seemed grungy, and the whole trip we kept saying "this place would be great if they just fixed it up."

It has been completely renovated (though the vertical blinds look suspiciously similar) and made larger. I'm not sure how this was done because it didn't seem to me that there was space for an addition but somehow it is now larger.

The best part about staying there is the genip tree that overhangs the pool area.

Blue Marlin is on the lower level of the same building.

I don't know if we would stay there again, simply because there are so many options, but now that it's been redone I would definitely recommend it.

My only hesitancy about the property is that the view isn't expansive or in your face. You can see the ocean, but we've had many better views at other places. When we stayed there it was only our third trip to STJ and now we've been there nine times and had so many great views that I would have a hard time renting a place with a limited view.

But for a budget friendly place close to town it's definitely a contender.

Great spot. The renovations took a long time and the price has bumped significantly. I too would be interested to hear about the results.
