Villa rec for 1 couple. Need view & pool or hot tub

Post by stjchica »

Ok guys...
Looking for a villa in June for 1 couple that is safe, has a view, and has a pool or hot tub.
Looking for around $1000 for 6 or 7 nights...
Anyone know of anything that fits that??
Need recommendations for a reasonable getaway..Doesn't have to be fancy, just clean and safe...just want to get back on island :D
***Also...do you think you would be happy to fore go a pool and view if it meant getting back on island sooner?

My husband and I stayed at Anchorage Aweigh in Coral Bay on our honeymoon in October 2010.

It is absolutely perfect for one couple. Just the right size with plenty of amenities. The view and the pool are outstanding! I think it is currently priced around $1600 for a week, which is a little more than you wanted, but we loved it there. Here are a few pictures of the views:

Thanks..Yes was looking to stay around $1000 but am not seeing much unless there are some specials..have sent a couple inquiries...
Just checked car rental prices.. $450 for the week..Wow..That is blowing my "We can go to STJ cheap" argument with the hubby... and yes we would want to rent a car~

Here is another but again more than $1,000....... http://www.vrbo.com/360113 I think you would be really hard pressed to find a villa with a pool/hot tub for $1,000 per week (a tent at Maho is almost $600 :) )

I personally would check Sail View at $775 per week - not a villa but fabulous (it is where I would stay should I not live here)...... http://www.sailviewstjohn.com/

Ok I am thinking SailView might win...Better to be on island minus a pool, than to not be on island... :D
Thanks Pia...

Sailview is great if you are on a budget. With prep kitchen on the deck you can even cook a few simple meals. The owners are wonderful! We did not even use the pool at our last villa. Go and Enjoy!

Another non-villa option is Cruz Views. You can often get last minute rates around $115/night, and there is a pool, and varying views.
And then there's Lavender Hill, I think, and maybe Battery Hill condos. I think all three have a pool. I do like a pool in case we feel like not going anywhere one day, though that only happened once!

We loved LaDolce Vita in Coral bay. We rented the studio....beautiful views, right on Coral Bay with a walkway down to the water, not very expensive and it has a hot tub. PM me if you'd like more info!

Good luck stjchica! I think there are definitely ways to do it cheaper. I always get caught up in the amenities of the house, but I must remember that my favorite times on island are usually not at the house- they're on one of the perfect beaches- and those are (mostly) free once you get there! Save on the house/condo and get that car so you can get to those beaches!
