Do you know who you think will be catering the wedding? If so, they might be a good resource to recommend a villa where they have catered a wedding in the past. Just a thought...

Our daughter was married in 2004 at sunset on Trunk Bay. It was a smallish wedding which was fine for me since I'd still be paying for it probably. We all have fond memories of it and after all, how many parents get to go on their children's honeymoon?

Anyway, for the wedding we rented two houses in the Klien Bay/Monte Bay area. Having two houses worked well so some guests could find respite away from the hubbub.

We had rented the two villas above using Monte Bay as the main villa. We had a very nice catered buffet and a lovely evening. As the evening wore on we changed to swim suits and in true Vermont fashion tried to pond skim the pool on the foam mattresses. As father of the bride I was somewhat responsible for the breakdown in decorum.

I'm sure whatever and wherever your choices you will have a wonderful time.

We got married back in 2001 and stayed at Caribe Villa with family (aka the Peter Max House) which is on Rendezvous Bay. Its got a killer deck to hang out on and have a reception (check with mgmt. company if its still acceptable).

It was awesome, big enough and has since been remodeled.

Congrats!

We had a family wedding at TreVista. Beautiful place - great location (though it is Choc Hole area). Happy to answer any questions. Congrats!

Thanks all for the feedback, the kids have lots of things to consider....any other ideas, please pass them on. I've been traveling 2 days, just catching up, hmmmmm, I like that idea of pond skimming with foam mattresses in the pool, that's my kind of wedding reception! :D

Assuming they proceed with the destination wedding idea, it's looking like Kalorama at this point, the kids love it. We saw the HD video of the place last night, it's really incredible. Thanks to all for the recommendations!

Wedding

We were married at 2B Peter Bay--a phenomenal setting. Only has 4 BR. At the time, houses in Peter Bay were not allowed to have live music at gatherings so we had our reception at Island Sun in Catherineberg. ( Cateredto.com) Also 4 BR but Cinnamon Tarn and/or Cinnamon Day Dreams are right next door. The views from Island Sun were also magnificent.
I dont believe that Kalorama allows weddings but the owner may have changed his mind in this ecconomic environment. Island Stones in Catherinberg is a 6 BR and a liitle pricey but I have stayed there before it was enlarged and I believe it has THE BEST VIEWS on the Island. Good luck to the kids. We had 32 guests for the wedding/honeymoon ans split them among 5 villas. It was the time of our life, and something that none of the guests will ever forget.

Although we haven't stayed at Kalorama, we did take a tour one day on one of our vacations. It's a gorgeous, modern villa. It has a great roof top deck. I think they'll love it - happy planning!

It's a bit more expensive than 9k, but it has 6 bedrooms and a great place for the ceremony.

That is where we just stayed. It's an amazing villa, and they might be willing to work out a deal. I thought they were looking for a more centrally located villa though.
