Day one = fabulous

Post by michigan girls »

First full day on STJ was a great one. Up with the roosters, off to the beach by 8:00AM. First stop - Salt Pond Bay. Only two other people there when we arrived. Snorkled for awhile, saw lots of different fish. I particularly enjoyed the rocks along the right side, although it was rougher over there and had to fight the current some. After several hours it got a little busy so we packed up and moved on to Little Lameshur. More people there than I expected, but not too bad. Although it was a little rough, the snorkling was not bad. Got lost in a huge school of small fry and got to swim with a ray. A visit to the ruins ended out day beautifully. Dinner was Aqua Bistro, I had a lovely grouper, and Sherry had swordfish. Shared an order of Conch fritter and a slice of key lime pie. Painkillers for both of us. All in all, it was a beautiful day in paradise. Photos will have to wait for our return, as the internet here is super slow.

Thanks for the "live" trip report! I've never been to Aqua Bistro, but hope to change that this trip, as everyone has great things to say about it. Also...you sorta had me at "conch fritters." I'm always on the hunt for the best of the best conch fritters! Y'all have fun!
