nice report-- roatans been on the radar for years-- but we never got around to it (yet) bummer about the watch though-- that sucks on many levels.

Great trip report. I loved the underwater pics. Roatan has been on our list of placed to go too, also!
It is too bad about his watch :(

wow...I loved your Roatan trip blog! Your photos were wonderful...especially loved the eel and octopus shots! Sounds like you had a great time. I have seen some House Hunter shows that took place in Roatan and have always been curious about vacationing there someday. Thanks for sharing your photos and information, especially about the snorkeling...that is one of our favorite things to do on St. John.

Very interesting report. Great pictures!

We had a similar off-shore snorkelling experience in the Dominican Republic with the added excitment of the boat taking off and leaving us there for 2 hours in really rolly seas. One of the girls (from Spain) nearly drowned, it was horrible. Glad to hear the operators took you out again for a better experience.

Very nice report, and lovely pictures!

We also had a similar experience on a boat tour that was mixed snorkelers/divers. Ours was in Bermuda, but the same thing happened--rough seas, too deep water etc. It was fine for the divers but miserable for the snorkelers. I am glad that you got to go on the second excursion.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for taking the time to make this report. It was terrific.
I'm so surprised that they left you hanging like that, on the boat trip, but the owner sure made good on the deal.
Bummer about the watch, and the lesson it's disappear teaches....
