Smart phone muggings

Post by Terry »

In case you didn't read my SF trip...here is what I'm referring to.

And it's not just happening in SF. Beware.

This is a huge problem in Boston right now too. Thieves are just ripping the phones out of people's hands while they are using them. It's happening on the street and also on the subway. Pretty much the only time I take my iphone out is to take a quick picture, and I always check around me before doing so.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Thanks for posting this. I had not heard about this kind of mugging. I will definitely be more aware.

Yes, be aware. As my daughter and I were walking around SF, we noticed all these girls so distracted on their cell phones. Bait.

Even the taxi drivers are trying to help catch dudes with their cabbie cameras.

It's so sad that the very media that we all enjoy, perhaps too much, has led us to being victims of assaults and muggings.

Trust me these muggers are quick. It can all happen in 15 seconds or less. There is not time to think. It's best to just keep the phone in your pocket.
