Restaurants
So we want to know what the best restaurants are and if you need to make reservations and how far in advance should we make any suggested reservations. We will be in St John at the end of April for 10 days and plan on eating out most all meals. I know food is expensive but I have been saving for over a year and am willing to spoil my husband for his 40th birthday trip. Thanks, 17 days left tell we arrive!

In Cruz Bay we like High Tide, Lime Inn and Morgan's Mango for nice dinners- first two most entrees in the $20's- Morgan's has more in the $30's. Joe's Barbecue has great ribs- very informal- under $20. There are several more expensive restaurants that many people like but we avoid them.
In Coral Bay we always try cheeseburgers or hamburgers at Skinny Legs and Shipwreck Landing. Both are low key but they do have more expensive meals- at least Shipwreck does. We eat lunch there because I don't want to drive back to the Cruz Bay area after dark.
Take out pizza from Cafe Roma was very good.
If you search restaurants on this board you will find more recommendations.
You might want to tell people where you are staying- most people staying around Coral Bay don't want to drive to Cruz Bay for dinner and vice versa.

On our last trip Rhumblines was the winner for best dinner. I've always had a personal thing about Happy Fish sushi and martinis but I think it may have closed. Miss Lucy's is good and so is Margarita Phil's. I like Candie's for BBQ and we had some awesome pulled pork nachos at the Tourist Trap. I still haven't had an opportunity to try Vie's but alot of other forumites rave about it. If you stay in a villa they will have a notebook with descriptions, menus and phone numbers for all of the restaurants. You probably only need reservations for some of the nicer "sitdown" places if you want to go at a specific time or get special seating. Don't worry - after being at the beach all day just about any place is fantastic!
Re: Restaurants
for a very romantic meal, I definitely recommend two places in Cruz Bay: Zozo's (sit upstairs, at the bar) and Asolare (sit along the rail with the view). for both of these restaurants, you will want reservations for sunset, and I'd call them now (and tell them specifically the seating you're after).alsea wrote:So we want to know what the best restaurants are and if you need to make reservations and how far in advance should we make any suggested reservations. there are lots of other good recommendations in this thread (I love Rhumb Lines, Waterfront Bistro, Morgan's Mango)... but those two above are the ones you should book now.
