Have a great trip, and please write a report with pictures when you come back!

I just pulled out my pictures from February. In a close up shot of our son, which shows only part of the beach in the background, I can count 48 people. There could have been 100 people there that day.

I didn't love Little Lameshur and remember thinking to myself that day "people drive all the way out here for this?" Jeeps were parked far up and down the road and in the bushes.

ditto for Francis & Maho. The parking at Francis was unbelievable...all the way to the end of the road then on the paved road. Cars would be trying to leave while some were heading up. It was crazy! There was no room and someone had to back up so the other could move.

Rick,

I'll be anxious to hear if your "not fancy" comment "holds true" after you have experienced your own little "cottage in the Caribbean".

There may NOT be a tv in the units - but, I swear - that's about the only thing that they are missing.

We spent one week at Guavaberry, 2 years ago, and haven't been able to plan a week's vacation anywhere else, since.

The units are private and so unique amongst the boulders, the grounds are gorgeous, the beach is out of a magazine and the island and people are so friendly - you will LOVE it.

I think the only thing that I didn't see mentioned is that the best snorkeling can be found off of Mahoe Bay. If you can't find a place to park, just stop at Mango Bay Beach resort and they will very gladly let you park in their lot.

We arrive on Thursday, April 19th. So, "we" will think of you when we meet up with Maggy!

Be sure to ask Tina, Valerie or Michelle if any of the "one night blooming" cactus flowers are ready to bloom. What a treat they are to see - especially the first time!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts upon your return.

Have fun!

Oh - we also had a great lunch one day a Mermaid's Dockside. Just ask Tina, she'll tell you where it is.

Thanks! I'm planning to write a trip report since there should be a good bit of new going on. We have lunch tomorrow in Charlotte Amalie with Capt. Jay & Debbie. Almost done working and soon to be done packing.

Cheers, RickG

I think its a great idea...we went to STJ in 09 over Spring Break...and definelty thought it was more crowded...we were at Little Lameshur on that Easter Sunday...it was definetly crowded...and there were boats from PR with music blaring and people yelling from one boat to the other...LOTS of people on the beach..since then...we've never planned on going back to STJ during Spring Break. I think VG is a great idea...almost wished we had gone there this trip...but..theres always next time..:)
We will look forward to the trip report...
Have Fun

Looking forward to your trip report, we're considering VG for next year.

Regarding crowds on STJ,....you know, I'm not sure when spring break is anymore? The schools are spread out a bit, and you've got crazy school vacations in some parts of NC. I read the place was mobbed end of Feb during MA vacation time....we went a week later, 3/2 to 3/12, and it wasn't bad at all. Little Lameshur had at most 4-5 cars, very quiet. Francis got crowded on weekends due to manta mania, but weekdays was very nice...no problems.

I guess Easter week could be a bad one, in the past we've always visited STJ last week of NH, its never been bad.

Ohhh, fun! We are cheating on St. John this year, too, and VG was number one on the list for a while. I read a ton of the trip reports here, and look forward to reading yours too. Guavaberry gets a lot of love - hope you have a great time! It is so beautiful in VG!!
