sunday we went on a daysail trip on the Survivan boat with Jason, Lu and Triton...

one thing about sailing is there is the "seasick" potential if you're not used to it or prone to that sort of thing. lisa took some dramamine prior to going out and i'll have to admit it got to me a bit also until we jumped in the water, snorkeling in the middle of the ocean was certainly a LOT different from snorkeling in the nice calm bays...

a barracuda was there to greet us...
Image

lots of spectacular coral...

kenny chesney's boat...

an $18,000,000 dollar catamaran, (according to Jason)....

monday back to Maho where we saw lots of turtles and a spotted eagle ray. very cool....

I know what you mean about the difference in the open ocean, back in '05 we sailed and snorkelled in rolly seas. My husband and I normally have no problems with sea sickness but all of us (including our friends) were queasy for hours after getting back on land.

Looks like you saw a nice variety of things.

i think we found turtles at every bay we went to. where ever there is seagrass they are there. it is surprising how big some of them are...probably a couple feet long. none we saw looked aggressive in any way, they swam up and all around us. of course the no touch rule is still a good idea. here's a video of a smaller one...

Thank you again for sharing! Can you tell me more about the seasickness? Where did you sail to, and how bad were the seas? Did the Dramamine keep your wife from feeling ill?

we sailed from the westin to stevens cay then to congo cay and back. i wouldn't say the sea was bad but normal, there are going to be some good waves out there. the key to dramamine is you have to take it a couple hrs. before you get on the boat as it takes awhile to take effect. i think it worked pretty well for her. if i had to do it over i probably would have taken some also but then i hate taking meds of any sort. i did spend fair bit of time focusing on the horizon....

Very nice! Looks like you saw special treats! Minde - as a diver who
Can get green out at sea very easily, I think Bonine is much better than Dramamine- just my opinion.

I'll pick up some meclizine. I don't know if that's in Bonine or the other, but that's what I want.
I was wondering if I should, now I know.
Thanks!
