Shooting is such a great sport. In light of recent events I'm pleased to see great kids like yours participating in this activity. It truly teaches discipline and respect for yourself and the environment.
A little known secret about me is that I used to work at the NRA in Fairfax-- right out of college -- and ran the Youth Education Sumit (YES program) for kids.
Where we taught kids respect for firearms and encouraged competition.
No I am not a right wing nut, in fact I'm pretty liberal, but I do love the shooting sports and you have every right to be proud of your kid. It's nice to see those young women too!!
It always pisses me off to go to the range and get attitude from the "good ole boys" they usually shut their traps when they see that I can hit a target with my 9mm at 50 feet.
Honestly, I think if more people tried it, they would understand the discipline and challenges of this sport.
I wish him luck!

*Another fine scatterbrained production
That's what all of my instructors told me as well. They prefer teaching women, because they don't have all the macho baggage and the testosterone (sorry guys). They don't touch anything until you you tell them to touch it. They don't do anything until you tell them to do it.
Personally I love the sport. It's just a shame that there are so many psychos out there.
