Choosing a beach based on lunch plans!!

Post by jdw »

On our next trip we are planning to have lunch at: Miss Lucys and Shipwreck Landing. Can you recommend which beach we should visit after lunch? Really want to visit Waterlemon - is that close to either restaurant? What about Miss Vies?

Thanks.

For Shipwreck Landing it's a short drive to Salt Pond. We usually do it the other way with going to the beach first and then going to Shipwreck for lunch.

For Miss Vies, I'd recommend Miss Vies beach, if I'm wrong please someone correct me but I think she charges $2/person for use of the beach.

Waterlemon is probably about 15-20 min drive from either lunch location and a 20-25 min walk. Of the 3 beaches I mention it probably gets the busiest in the afternoon. It's another favorite morning beach for us.

We've had lunch at both places several times and usually go to either Frances or Maho after lunch.

You will be closest to Salt Pond from either restaurant. Other fairly nearby beaches are Grootpan/Kiddle and the Lameshurs. I have also seen people ask for permission to hang out on and snorkle from Miss Lucy's beach to the left of the dining area.

I would estimate that Waterlemon and Miss Vies are about a 20 minute drive--in opposite directions--from both places. Personally I would go to Waterlemon in the morning--before lunch.

We like to go to Lameshur in the morning for a long snorkel, then head to Shipwreck. We've also done Salt Pond, then Shipwreck for a late lunch.

have you heard anything, positive or negative about the snorkeling around Miss Lucy's? Thanks LA! I agree I would do Waterlemon in the am!

We always stop at Shipwreck Landing on a Salt Pond day unless there's alot of taxi's from the cruise ships then we would go to Island Blues but I think it is now Caribbeans Blues (new owners) and I haven't been there yet. Aqua Bistro also serves a good burger with a nice view.We usually do Salt Pond, Ship Wreck for lunch and then stop at Trunk or Hawksnest after all the Cruise passengers have left on the way back to our villa
