Trying to arrange a day for my In-laws
We travelled to St. John with our In-laws last July and they loved it. In particular, a day we spent at Caneel Bay for lunch, drinks and floating. They are going on a cruise soon and one of the ports is St. Thomas. They asked us about how to get "back to that nice beach for lunch."
We have arranged for a taxi to get them to red hook and back, but the St. John part of it is difficult as they will need to rent beach chairs from somewhere so they have a place to sit while they are enjoying the main beach, having lunch, etc. I called PIA, but I'm not sure if taxis and chair rentals qualify as *excursions* although we still left a message.
We'd really like for them to just step off the ferry and be on their way with chairs and taxi waiting. We don't want them to have an overwhelming *travel day* just to spend a few hours on the beach.
Any suggestions on how we can we go about arranging for this?

I am sure Pia will be able to help-- she pretty much can do anything
but i do know that slim man has a limo -- that would be an expensive option probably! and have you called Caneel to see if they have rental chairs?

Hi Loria,
I don't think they need a limo, just a taxi to Caneel and a place to rent chairs close to the ferry. I'll call Caneel but I doubt they rent chairs, and I know it's a faux pas to sit on theirs. I guess basically the difficult part is chair rental for them so they can have a nice meal on the beach and a comfy place to sit.
Thanks.

Call Caneel's spa. Two or three years ago when we were on STJ, Caneel was running a special for $110 or so dollars that included a massage, lunch, beach towels, beach access AND use of chairs for the day, use of the shower room, etc. I found it through the spa section of their website under promos/special offers and it was also advertised in the Tradewinds.
