1st Go To Beach

Post by Bigcheeze »

Hawksnest might not be our Fav(but then again it might) but it's always the 1st on our first full day on the rock. The kids DJ and Sydney(Little Cheese) cut their STJ teeth on this beach 9 years ago, therefore, tradition is kinda paramont to our decision as to the beach we inhabit for our first full day.

What is yours?

Natually, we do make many a stop there at different times of the day...all affording different expereinces...from calm to riding the waves in on the surf

Hawksnest was my first STJ beach visit,too.-seems like a lifetime ago.
Stayed at Terrahawk villa back then...
The only reason I've passed by Hawksnest in recent years was a toss up between the packed parking lot,& the fact that we've recently been in the habit of Coral Bay.(Maho is closer from where we've been staying these past few years...)
Maybe we just have to plan on an earlier morning there at Hawksnest to beat the crowds...!
Maho has always been my favorite, but Hawksnest was my first - :D
YUM,YUM,YUM...
So happy for yous guys.
We're so anxious to meet so many of you wonderful forum family folks, but it doesn't look like any time too soon.
I miss that place, and would love to finally meet some of you folks~
Some day...
'til then-
Smiles-

If we arrive early enough to atleast stick our feet in the water the first day then I like Maho or Francis. If we arrive late, I like to start our first full day with a nice hike (like Ram's Head) stopping by for a snorkel at Blue Cobblestone, some time at Salt Pond, then a long afternoon at Maho or Francis :D :D :D Can't wait!!!

Definately Maho, it was the first time our son (4.5 mo at the time) was in the ocean. We always visit Maho first.

Hawksnest was also our first and remains our favorite. On our recent trip we were able to have our favorite spot as well, next to the rocks all the way to the right. Sun in the morning, shade in the afternoon, plus having several places to get out of the rain proved helpful this last trip since we had a few 10-20 minute downpours. On more crowded days we like to go the other end, Little Hawksnest for a little shade and privacy.

We always head to Cinnamon because that's the first place (and the 2nd place) we visited when I was a kid (way back in 1970 then 1973). It is still my favorite place on the entire planet.

-Sandy (we do visit other beaches of course but Cinnamon is a pilgrimage)

Not a whole lot to say about it but it usually winds up as Francis.

And yes, I usually post more as time gets closer to going. But then there is more to reply to because more people are posting.

Whichever beach is closest to where we are staying. Never there early enough to go to the beach on arrival day. So wherever we can get to quickest first thing in the morning.

Maho.... My middle son fondly refers to it as "My Beach". We frequent Maho so much that he truly believes it was his beach!! :D

Due to it's close proximity to Cruz Bay, we usually stop at Hawksnest first, then I realize I don't really enjoy that beach. It's always been too rough to enjoy every time I've been there, maybe one day it won't be. After that quick stop at Hawksnest, we head to Maho and realize how much we love it. Ahhh!

Definitely Maho. Nothing makes me happier than being at Maho with my husband and a nice cold Carib.
