I am glad you found sandwiches! I was on STJ the same time you were and had the same thought of wishing there was a great take-away place where we could get beach lunches over that way.

While I can pack a lunch, I simply don't want to do so. I am lazy on vacation.

Not Coral Bay but the stuff we had from Sam and Jack's Deli was fantastic.

As a veteran of ONE trip to St. John, I can say that we rented a villa because we wanted the privacy! It was our 25th anniversary and we wanted to splurge. We didn't cook anything at the villa. We had some apples and cheese, crackers & snacks that we snacked on there, but all meals were in restaurants! It's a vacation and it was our first real vacation ever! I sure didn't want to cook and do dishes!

We are definitely looking for a cheaper option next time, turns out we spent hardly any time at all at the villa!

(BTW, does anyone know how long it takes to stop thinking about St. John every single day?)

Short of a frontal lobotomy, no way it ever stops.

I am amazed that this simple question in this thread amounted to 3 fast pages of responses :o
