10 more days in paradise, final
Nancy, Gastrogrub closed its doors right before we came down. I did want to try it but we missed it by a few days. I think I read that he is going to try and reopen elsewhere at some future time.
Silverheels, our dates are not firm yet but it looks like we will probably be there the first two weeks of August. Maybe a couple of extra days tacked on the beginning depending on which house we end up renting and when people are joining us. Are you going to be there then? It would be nice to see you again.
MaryBeth, Asolare was on my "off" list for a while, but then we had a really good meal there a couple of years ago, so we decided to try it again this time. It's still not my favorite but I do like the setting.
Vacagirl, the camera is a Canon G12 with underwater housing.

Very, vErY, nice! I really appreciate your attention to details.
A couple of quicky questions. Did you miss cooking?
I'm not sure I could handle such a deluge of restaurants.... Sometimes the whole process of restauranting can be such a process.
Also, why the underwater case for the G12 instead of the D10? It must have been a bit of clunky having to deal with it.

Yes, I did miss cooking. Eating out all of the time got a little tiresome (and fattening, ha!). I totally understand that some people don't want to cook at all on vacation, but that's not my style. I don't think we will do another trip like that again.

Because in my opinion the G12 takes much sharper photos than the D10. There is a fuzziness around the edge of the images on the D10 that drives me crazy. It might not be noticeable if you are just looking at an image on the forum, but viewing at home on the movie screen, it is very noticeable. PLUS, the D10 leaks!! I have now gone through 3 D10s. Two are dead and out of warranty, the one working camera is a replacement for one that died while still in warranty. It's absolutely ridiculous. Despite its convenient design, after my experiences I would never recommend that camera to anyone! That said I am planning on getting the D20 when it comes out, I am an optimist, haha.
