The photo was taken Dec 28. At first the creature just looked like a lump on a rock. We hung around for about 10 minutes to get this shot.

The width of the part of the creature that is shown in the picture was about 20-30 inches across.

Awesome picture. I do not know much about octopuses. Do they tend to stay around the same area or move around?

We met a St John resident in his late 80's at Haulover south on our last day. He was there and painted one of the benches gold that day. He had made them to come and spend time where he spread his wife's ashes 5 years ago.

He said there is a Octopus that lives on the left side. He said you can sometimes find them by the crushed rocks they leave in the area.
