yesss....my ping pong table request is back!

Post by MaineSail »

Hello my St.John friends! I put in a crazy request for a ping pong table rental for our trip to the island in April. We are staying in the VGE at Vista Caribe. I did get a couple of responces the first time around....but wanted to give a shout out again.

I see a post on noseeum's blog in the near future

(Please note, noseeum, I used the apostrophe appropriately)

It might not suit your purposes but the website Uncommon Goods has a travel net and paddles to use on a regular table.

I followed up on the comments about making it to "noseeums" blog... I went onto the blog to discover that my silly request generated into a fun story to exemplify the definition of a yet another needy, pampered, tourist who has crazy requests and high expectations. Wow, I didn't know grown adults behaved this way -I'm am simply on this forum to share the joy in the beautiful island of St.John. Yes, I will have yet another fabulous trip-with or without a ping ping table Thanks!

I don't think that anyone here meant to call you spoiled or anything at all like that! it's just a rather, well, unusual request, (you yourself called it crazy) and it is kind of funny!--come on, you can see that! In fact, i thought that by reposting it for an upcoming trip that you too saw the humor in it! " No see um ' can be a bit, shall we say , acerbic-- and while i don't always think what she says/posts is kind (and sometimes really unkind). People put all sorts of stuff out there..... Sometimes it is funny-- and this is a somewhat humorous request (though i am sure that others have trumped this completely). I hope you really do understand, I don't think that anyone here was trying to have a laugh at your expense at all.

It has been a long week and that is what I wanted to say but could not get the words on the page. Thank you for saying exactly what I was thinking.

Being a property manager, when I saw this I thought...YIKES....banging ping pong balls and paddles on the dining table...not good!!! Villa owners would agree I'm sure!!

I'm sorry if I offended you! I really didn't mean it and I don't think anyone here things of me as a mean girl.
I thought it was intentionally posted to irk Miss NoSeeUm. And I thought it WOULD irk Miss NoSeeUm. So I expected that we'll see evidence of Miss NoSeeUm's ire....
I see NOTHING pretentious in seeking out the very detail that will make your hard earned vacation just as great as it could possibly be. If you want a guy hired to follow you with a sun shade, to keep you out of the glare, I think you should go for it! It's vacation!!! We wait a long time for these!
Again, my apologies if that came out alllll wrong!

I wish I had a ping pong table in my travels too...
traveling with 2 active boys that would love it !!
They really do make you feel young, then tired at the end of day !
Wouldn't want it any other way !
