Boxes done.. I think ???

Just putting the finishing touches on my 2 boxes to ship. Can anyone think of any 'must haves' that I forgot?

Box #1 -

Tanning lotions
Body lotion
Deodorant
Soap
Toothpaste
Bug spray
Razor
Small travel size blow dryer
Bacon cooker for the microwave
Koozies to keep the cans cold!
Small bottle tums
Small contact lens solution
Band aids
Breathe right strips for hubby
Ibuprophen
Chap stick
Gallon & zip lock baggies

Box #2
Popcorn
trail mix
nuts
salsa
granola bars
Small bottles mustard, ketchup, mayo
crystal light
oatmeal packets
Peanut butter

shampoo... conditioner... antihistamine gel or cream... antibiotic cream.... a few packets of instant Gatorade mix... crackers... brownie mix

just things I might add in small sizes

Coffee, granola/cereal, suntan lotion -- these items are among those that are more expensive on STJ.

First off, happy traveling. Second, I always pack a generic Benadryl for any allergic reactions, or difficulty sleeping.....as a nurse, has been handy in the past.......have fun....staying on VG in March....

Baby Powder - Makes the sand fall off your feet

Cortizone Cream (big tube) - For inner thigh friction rashes...If you've ever walked a mile in a wet bathing suit, you know what I'm talking about...youch!

Neosporin - it's like the duct tape of dermatology

Extra Phone Charger

Aloe Vera - For sun burns

A corkscrew and a 2nd liver - Perhaps this is just me.

Plastic Trash Bags - They're good for putting your dirtiest clothes in before you put them back your suitcase, particularly if don't have a W/D at your villa...if do have a W/D, then I'd suggest one of those small detergent packets

To make a little room in your boxes for all the great suggestions, you can probably leave behind the hair dryer (I have never stayed anywhere that doesn't have one---unless you are camping?). I second the cortisone and neosporin!

Also, in addition to regular bandaids, I would pack blister band aids. The times I have had to buy them at Chelsea drug they have been crazy expensive (think $8-9 for four bandages), and they are not always in stock. Actually, anything you think you might need from the drugstore that you can fit in your box is worth sending down or packing in your luggage.

We have Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear Luggage. My stuff goes in the small one, the food/mostly snack stuff goes in the middle one and my husband and son's stuff go in the big Daddy luggage. This one here is already at 50 pounds the good thing is we have room to bring souvenir's home. Margarita salt is a must

Ah yes the poo/conditioner.
Will add the drug store type stuff as well. Last year the most expensive thing we bought was a case of water for 15.00! I think I can get that cheaper at the lumber yard?

I pack reusable water bottles in our luggage, fill up gallons at the Ice company, and keep our reusable bottles full.
It is SO MUCH better for an island that has no recycling, keeps them out of the landfill, and saves you a ton of money!

LOL.. You must have to hide that stash of sugar from baby bear..?! OR is that daddy bears stash? LOL

I know now that I look at that we look like junk food junkies LOL! There is some dried fruit and crackers under the BAD stuff

I like to call it 'thrifty' lol. Do you also bring the carry on of fozen food? I did last year and saved alot making our breakfast and lunch for the beach each day. I remember a pound of bacon being 11.00.

Amazing the change in weather from ealier this week to today in New England huh?? About 40 degrees!

I'd add some of our favorite everyday spices, and a GOOD sharp chef's knife, and knife sharpener.
Trash bags are also handy to keep in the jeep to sit on if you're not quite dry from your visit to the beach.
Oh, and $2 rain ponchos from walmart stay with us on travel days for the when the skies open up suddenly.

We usually do pack a cooler but this time we are staying in town for one night at the St. John Inn before we go to our villa on the other side of the island. I was afraid the frozen food would thaw during that extra day so I am not willing to chance it, ya know being "thrifty" and all

The weather has been great! I'm loving it!!

Last year I had one of the marvelous polar bear coolers, and my food was still frozen after 36 hours!
