Favorite Drinks Back at the Villa

Post by LBA »

Hardly ever post but read this forum all the time. :)

Hubby and I are getting ready for our 9th trip to St. John this February. Normally we drink wine here in Michigan to get us through the winter. Looking for some recommendations for some good island drinks to whip up in our villa at night after we are in for the evening. Thanks everyone.

Painkillers of course and on our most recent trip we discovered Cruzan guava rum...mix it with Sprite and you've got yourself quite a drink!

Put 5 ice cubes in a small tumbler, squeeze a wedge of lime over ice, pour in Cruzan coconut rum 1/2 to 3/4 full, then squeeze another wedge of lime over all. Enjoy! :D This is a sit back and sip kind of drink, not a chug-a-lug kind.
Friends, they go away then they re-appear...I believe there is Magic here.

One thing we love is to make beer margaritas. The nice thing is that it makes a whole pitcher and you're not up mixing individual drinks all the time.

1 can of limeade from the freezer section
1 can (limeade can) of tequila
1 or two cans of sprite
2 coronas

Mix that in a pitcher and either pour over ice OR for a slushy drink, blend it with ice in the blender.

YUMMY!!!

I fell in love with the Cruzan Black Cherry Rum & lemonade a couple years ago while on STJ. Cheap, refreshing, and easy...kinda' like me...
Also can never go wrong with painkillers.
I am going to have to try that beer margarita situation. Sounds great to me! Just wondering how drunk you got while trying to perfect the recipe!

We always end up buying several bottles whenever we vacation (here in NC or on St John). On the first night, T always concocts the drink of the week. Essentially, it's a little bit of everything topped with some juice.

As a result, such drinks exist:
The Blue Sky
The Sanctuary (A NC drink)
The Morgan Point
The Mission Accomplished (another NC drink)

Me? give me my favorite 4 ingredients: a glass, ice, lime, rum.

MahoJim.... it was work, but we've got it down to a science... someone had to perfect it!! In fact, it tastes pretty darn good tonight while sitting at the villa.

TrvlKaren buys ALL the flavored rums, mixes them together, adds a spoonful of oj to each drink and calls it fruit juice.

She says they are delicious. I stick with beer and an occasional painkiller.
