Day Sail on St John - My Favorite!

Post by Dan »

From time to time I see posts asking for recommendations for day sails from St John to the BVI. Over the years I've taken just about every boat excursion from Cruz Bay and I will tell you my favorite is the Kekoa.
I highly, highly, recommend an excusrion on a catamaran to a power boat. It's far more relaxing to sail.

Here are some pictures of my day onboard the Kekoa.

Enjoy!

Looks really nice; we definitely want to do a catamaran this time down there in January. How much is the Kekoa and how many people does it hold?

Hi StJohnLover,

The cost of the day trip is about $100 per person for the day. That included some snacks and all drinks. The Kekoa can hold more than 25 people but the day we went there was only 12. It's a big catamaran with plenty of seating.

It was a great time.

Kekoa can hold 55 for trips to the BVI and I believe 90 for USVI. Her costs are $130 for a full day USVI and $125 plus Customs for BVI - she also offers half day and sunsets - she is a wonderful catamaran with great crew. There is also Calypso the other large catamaran.

Let me know if I can help with your booking - no charge of course.

I need to edit this post - I must say that I have never, ever known them to go with full capacity - their first priority is the comfort of their passengers and I would never expect them to fill the boat unless maybe for a private charter and it was the request of the guest - as I said first class company :)
