Advice on what everyone does to keep food cold?

Post by cindygad »

We are staying 2 weeks then moving to a larger place when my sister arrives for the last week. Check out is 10 am and check in is 3 pm. What have others did besides using a cooler? Open to suggestions.

I'd ask for a late check out at the first place and an early check in at the second place and see how much you can close the gap between the two places.

Have visited a few villas, and strangely the fridge was never really cold, but the freezers were sub zero.. Keep another cooler clean for JUST ice. Plenty of Zip-Loc baggies! for home & beach!
PM me for suggestions if you haven't gotten any,-glad to help.
I'm sure you'll get plenty of help,here!
Happy Holidays, and always-

I'm guessing you're not planning to have your own cooler for the transport?

I'd also check on an early check-in at the second place. They might let you drop of the food/luggage while they're doing the turnover cleaning.

I would just ask the 2nd villa if you can drop of your food in the fridge. I can not imagine that they would say no

We did this once (switched villas mid-vacation) and it was slick. We arranged everything with the second villa management company; they let us drop off our luggage and food so that we could enjoy the day at the beach while the villa was being cleaned. Checked in officially at 3:00.

Thanks everyone for suggestions. I did email the owner and she is getting back after she talks to greeter. That would be the best option if they allow us to drop off food then on to beach while we wait to change places.

If they won't let you drop off the food, maybe they would at least let you go take the cooler from the second place, and bring your food back there later. At the very least, the cooler should be available!
