The people you meet on STJ.

Post by P-600 »

I have to say we have never been to a forum get together. I have always wanted to go but my husband isnt as excited about them as me! We went on a day charter last year with two awesome couples once again my husband wasnt into that either but he had the time of his life! Lol! We have been friends on facebook and keep up with each other all the time.
This past September while on STJ we were at Hightide. I love that place! I overheard a woman tell the bartender that she and her hubby were from Atlanta. My husband ran to the restroom so I walked over to them and told her my daughter was moving to Atlanta (see Luke off topic) We hit it off and chatted all night. We made plans to get together again before we left which we did.
Tonight that wonderful lady and her husband are at my daughters house in Atlanta babysitting my grandchildren because we met on STJ and we have been texting and friends ever since. She is not on the forum--she actually hasnt even heard of it :o I am so grateful to them.
My advice is put yourself out there. You may be friends for life. You already know you all have one thing in common. STJ!
On my Ipad sorry for any spelling errors.

I Love it! They had such a great time meeting each other last night that I think our Atlanta friends are joining us on STJ next month!

Very poignant indeed.

If anyone is in the NYC area and wants to babysit, give me a holler!

One of my favorite things to do on STJ is to meet and get to know the locals. The rock has some real "personalities". This last trip, I found out Slim Man's real name from his co-workers at Trunk Bay.
Then Slim Man told me Theodora Moorehead's family nickname! Turns out that they are cousins. I met two of my DFW -VIOL friends by accident in front of the Beach Bar one day just by starting a conversation.
That led to more DFW friends from the forum and so on.
We've all had a blast getting together to talk about the "Rock." The next goal is to someday do a STJ trip together as a large group from DFW.
Watch out, Ruth. Order more K-O-J coffee.
Maybe it will be the start of an annual "Forum Week." Not sure that STJ can hold all of us crazies at once.

Remeber Jorge and his wife Barb? Still friends with them.

That's how I met Captain Jay and Deb and I'm not even a STJ person.
