Cookie Porn!!

Post by Lindy »

Phew, the annual cookie sale at Hubby's church is done and I'm exhausted!! I donated 8 deli trays of goodies this year. Some recipes are posted in the other thread about Christmas cookie recipes.

The cookies look delicious, uhm!

Is it a Christmas custom to donate cookie to a church?

No Linne - It is not a custom, but it's something that the Ladies guild at my husband's church does each year to raise money for scholarships and other charitable endeavors. The sale is held at a public building in our town and is open to anyone who wants to attend. Many people are either too busy or don't like to bake, so selling cookies around the holidays seems to work out quite well. Most of the cookies are sold on the day of the sale (Saturday) and then the rest are usually sold at the church services the following day. I've always liked baking fancy cookies since I was young so it's a challenge each year to try to exceed what I did the year before....I think it's fun! (Plus, if I give the cookies away I won't eat as many and hopefully save myself a few extra pounds.)

I would have bought some of your cookies, if I lived
near the church. Not because I'm too busy to bake,
more because I'm lazy! :D
